Our wonderful guests all have something in common...They appreciate nature and they enjoy time relaxing in it...And we do our best to give them a luxurious and beautiful sanctuary in which to do just that.
Looking back, I can't quite believe it will be 5 years this year since we moved from Sussex to Devon and started welcoming guests to our little bit of Heaven. It's been one heck of a learning curve, with a Pandemic thrown into the mix, but it's also been incredibly rewarding. Just hearing how much everyone enjoys their time at Mill Farm makes us very proud of what we've achieved and when they return again and again we know we have something very special here.
So what's new for us this year? Well, we're expanding our bee hives from one to two, so hopefully that will mean even more delicious honey this time...Plus we're hoping for lots of fresh produce from our new vegetable plot and eggs from our recently hatched chickens,
(that's if they don't turn out to be boys!). You never know, if we have enough veggies we may open a little stall on the driveway. :)
Our son Tom has also been busy and he now runs his own butchery business, 'The Real Tom Holland Butchers', which means we can offer fantastic Breakfast and BBQ packs to our guests. I know I'm biased but the burgers and sausages are amazing...Not to mention the dry-aged T-Bone Steaks! Pop a couple of those on your BBQ and sit back and enjoy that lake view!!
I've also been busy with my wire sculptures and I now sell them from a fabulous shop in Appledore. It's a beautiful coastal village and only 30 mins from us, so dropping off new pieces there is a great excuse to visit and have a coffee!
Hope you have a fantastic New Year and if I've whetted your appetite for our little rural retreat, hopefully it won't be long before you're sampling its delights for yourself!
See you soon!
Gill xx
